Vera LaRay Paterson, age 72, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on September 4, 2019.  She was born on May 4, 1947 in Laramie, Wyoming, the daughter of Thomas Edward and Lorna Irene (Taylor) Cantlin.


She married William Mathew Paterson, on October 19, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada.


LaRay lived a life of service to her family.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren.  They brought so much joy and happiness to her always.  She enjoyed spending time with them, and celebrating their accompolishments.  She loved to spend time crocheting, going to the rodeo, listening to George Strait music, dancing, and gardening.  She loved to spend time hunting in her earlier years, and was the best baker and cook ever.  She lived a life of passion, especially towards her family.  She loved and cared for everyone.  She was also very passionate towards the US Military, and cared deeply for those who serve our country.  She enjoyed tattoo art, and received her first tattoo at the age of 70.  She was a devoted spouse and mother.


LaRay is survived by her husband, William M. Paterson, of Opal, WY; her children, a son, David Paterson, of Louisiana, a daughter, Autumn Jones, of Montana, and a daughter, Kimberly (Wayne) Cretsinger, of Opal, WY.  She is survived by her brothers, Chuck, Michael, and Bernie, and a sister, Denise.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) William (Leesa), Thomas Jones, Christopher, and Josh.  She is also survived by six great grandchildren.  


She was preceded in death by her parents, and her step father.


LaRay’s wishes were to be cremated and no services will be held at this time.


Memorial donations may be made to that of the donor’s choice.
