Harold “Hal” L. Kellogg, 80

Hal Kellogg passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2020 at the age of 80. Hal was born August 11th, 1939 in Courtenay, North Dakota to Russell H. and Ruth J. Kellogg (Lowe). He grew up in Billings, Montana where he attended Billings Senior High School, and in 1957 enlisted in the United States Army. As a young man, his hobbies included fishing, camping, and taking in a Billings Mustangs baseball game. Hal began his life-long career in the oil industry in 1980. His career would take him to La Barge, Wyoming in 1988.

He worked as a warehouse manager for both the Shute Creek and the glycol dehydration “Dehy” facilities and was a driven professional with an unmatched work ethic, often earning accolade for managing the best-kept warehouse this side of the Mississippi. Hal found home in La Barge, quickly falling in love with his career, the landscape, and the town’s residents. He was an avid coin collector and thoroughly enjoyed the many friendships he formed at the local watering hole. He loved and was loved by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents Russell H. and Ruth J. Kellogg, sister Barbara R. Korenko, ex-wife Yvonne M. Kellogg, step-daughters Shereece “Reece” Heathman and Linette “Netty” Heathman, and son Jesse E. Kellogg.

Hal is survived by his wife Charlotte “Kay” K. Kellogg, children Catherine “Cathy” E. Wiest, Mary A. Kellogg, Karen K. Kellogg, Michael L. Kellogg, and step-daughter Theresa K. “Terri” Fotheringham, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life service will be scheduled for a later date and announced locally. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a private graveside service will be conducted on Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Viola Cemetery, LaBarge, WY.
