Pamela Jill Housley

Pamela Jill Housley, age 60, passed away on February 21, 2020 from complications of a stroke.  Jill as she prefered to be called was born on October 24, 1959 in Kemmerer, WY the daughter of S Cyril and Dorise Marx Housley and was welcomed home by an older sister, Deanna and brother Sam.  Jill attended LaBarge Elementary School and graduated from Big Piney High School.  She was a member of the LaBarge LDS Church.

Jill was a spunky, but shy little girl thriving on an abundant amount of endless energy, which she never lost throughout her lifetime.  As she grew into adulthood she loved a variety of activities ranging from riding motorcycles, and snow machines with her nephew, Justin and these two were the best of buddies and companions.  She had a deep love for animals from the time she was a little girl and always had a beloved dog to keep her company.  Another love of Jill’s was dabbling in oil painting, of which the Northeran Lights fascinated her and her paintings of them, few though they were reflected her love of those spectacular colors.

The LaBarge Mercantile was where Jill learned the value of work and she continued working as a store clerk even after the Merc was sold.  She thought moving to Pocatello, Idaho would bring a better paying job, but the noisy city, too much traffic and not enough “Wide open spaces” made her decide she was too much of a Wyoming loving country girl, so she moved back to LaBarge and found a job working at Dry Creek Store for 27 years.

Jill’s life was fullfilled and happy as long as she could work, followed by a walk with her dogs--- first Mandy and currently, Boots.  Her day wasn’t complete unless she got o work in a full exercise routine.  Jill loved being a stay at home person, but she did have a memorable trip to Hawaii, attending country music concerts, and family reunions, where she could hardly wait for her nephews to tease her relentlessly.

Jill is survived by her sister, Deanna (Daniel) Schaffer, of American Falls, ID; a brother, Sam (Cheryl) Housley of LaBarge, WY; eight nieces and nephews; seventeen great nieces and nephews and twenty seven great nieces and nephews.  The nieces and nephews were the only ones allowed to call her “AJ -- the reason -- she didn’t want to be called Aunt Jill”

She is preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, several aunts and uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the LaBarge LDS Church at 11:00 AM.  Inurnment will follow services at the Viola Cemetery, Viola, WY.
