Kemmerer

Anthony Walton "Wally" Riding, age 69, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. He was born on November 14, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Anthony and Anita Riding.

Wally graduated from Grace High School in Grace, Idaho, with the Class of 1975. Following graduation, he was hired by Utah Power & Light (UP&L) and moved to Kemmerer, Wyoming, where he began what would become a career of more than 30 years at the Naughton Power Plant. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family throughout the years.

To those who knew him best, Wally will be remembered for the memories he created with his children. As they were growing up, he loved taking them clay pigeon shooting, letting them drive his truck, and loading everyone up for family trips to Salt Lake City, especially when those trips included a stop at Little America. Those simple moments became some of their favorite memories.

Wally also enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends and appreciated the freedom and adventure of being out on the open road.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jared Riding (Brooklyn), Jessica Riding (Kyle), and Jake Riding; his grandchildren, Mason Riding, Ashlyn Riding, Braylee Bachmann, and Jackson Bachmann; his brother, Steven Riding (Gaye); his sister-in-law, Monica Barnum; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony "Tony" Riding; his mother, Anita Riding; his brother, Richard Riding; and his niece, Felicity Riding.

Our family finds comfort in the many memories we shared with Wally and the laughter, adventures, and traditions that will continue to live on through us. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Cremation has taken place. No services will be held at this time. A celebration of Wally's life will be held at a later date.
