Barbara Elaine Barbe

February 28, 1943 — June 19, 2025

Kemmerer

It is with a heavy heart the family of Barbara Elaine Barbe, age 82, announces her passing away at South Lincoln Medical Hospital in Kemmerer, Wyoming on June 19, 2025. Barbara was born in Cotton County, Oklahoma to Leroy Athel Barbe, Jr. and Vivian Annie (Turner) Barbe on February 28, 1943. She grew up in Southwest Oklahoma. Barbara attended grade school in Comanche and graduated from Walters High School. She attended beauty school until she thought she had learned enough to get her by. Barbara married Leroy Stapp on January 13, 1962, and had four wonderful girls, Betty, Delaina, Charlotte, and Angi. Barbara loved her girls more than anything, they were her world. Her children gave her strength during the rough times and laughter and joy all of the time. Barbara enjoyed being around her family, but she wanted a change of scenery and in 1980, Barbara and the girls moved to Southwest Wyoming. Barbara loved the beautiful mountains and wildflowers of Wyoming. Barbara worked hard and at times multiple jobs to take care of her family. Barbara worked at Haggar Slakes as a seamstress for twenty plus years. Then in Wyoming she worked at Little America as a desk clerk for many years. She was a DOT Officer for the State of Wyoming for seven years where she retired from in 2007. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother and a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Barbara could and would fix anything and everything that she thought needed fixed, even if you didn’t know it needed fixed. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved spending time with her family, and friends, but she especially loved watching her grandkids play ball down at the ball fields. Barbara loved her family and would make a point to tell them that she loved and appreciated them as often as possible. Barbara would make sure to stay in touch with all of her family and friends and would talk for hours. She was so proud of her kids and grandkids and even great grandkids. Barbara’s family and friends will hold dear the stories she told us, sometimes more than once. Barbara had a passion for books and reading, especially her Bible, just like her mother. Barbara had an unconditional faith and would share God’s message with those she met; she was a great witness for Jesus Christ. Barbara enjoyed watching movies, some even on repeat. She loved to crochet and tried really hard to teach her kids, grandkids and great grandkids to no avail. Barbara is survived by her older brother, Wayne Roy Barbe of Lawton, OK; daughters, Betty (George) Collins of Kemmerer, WY, Charlotte (Jeff) Sherbeyn of Rock Springs, WY, Angi (Micah) Lipscomb of Temple, OK; grandkids, Bridget (Matt) Stewart, Darin (Bear) Taylor, Sassy (Aaron) Longmore, Crystal (Hunter) Wright, Brittin (Tim) Whitt, Sierra (Dillon) Dummer, Justin (Dawn) Collins, Travis (Kathryn) Collins, Lance Collins, Travis (Jordan) Collins Jr., Jessie Collins, Brody (Victoria) Collins, Alexa Collins, Andy Lipscomb, Krissy (George) Sanchez, Nathan Lipscomb, and Dayson Lipscomb; great grandkids, Layla, Richlee, Weston, Taylor, Ronix, Andrik, Zander, Ledger, Colter, Ainsley, Gracely, Lainey and Landyn, Luna, Mary Ruth, Travis Collins (III), and another one on the way. Barbara also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Jan Barbe of Geronimo, OK, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many other loved ones. Barbara was so strong in her faith and knowledge of the Bible and in God’s great works that she was not afraid of dying. We know she is up in Heven celebrating with those that preceded her in death. Her parents, Leroy & Vivian Barbe; sister, Betty Ann Beam, and younger brother, Clifford Earl “Skip” Barbe, daughter, Delaina Sue Stapp; nephews, Donnie Beam, Brent Barbe, and Billy Beam. Although Barbara is gone from this earth, she will live in our hearts forever.
