Betty Joan (Ware) Baxter, age 77, of Kemmerer, WY, passed away on June 12, 2023, after battling a long illness. She was reunited with the love of her life, Merl, for their 58th wedding anniversary.
Betty was born on November 5, 1945, to James and Maxine Ware in Portland, Oregon. After Betty graduated from Grant High School she married Merl Lamar Baxter on June 12, 1965, in Portland, Oregon. Betty and Merl went on to have two daughters Stephanie and Kristin. After following Merl’s military career both overseas and stateside, they settled in Kemmerer, Wyoming in 1977.
Betty held many job titles over the years in Kemmerer and had many hobbies. She loved ceramics, crossword puzzles, card games, and crocheting. She was usually the winner of every trivia game. Her knowledge about any subject had her family calling for her help often. Betty was active in the F.O.E and served as a president of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her brother Ronnie Kolb, Stephanie (Rick) Kinder and Kristin (Mark) Housley, Marrla (Roger) Parker and family, Marrdy (Richard) Goehring and family, and Steve (Jennie) Baxter and family as well as grandchildren Nicole Harris and Kendra Harris, Nic (Abby) Housley (great-grandchildren Marshall, Palmer and Dallas), Tanner (Amanda) Housley (great-grandchildren Colton and Camden).
She will be dearly missed by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and long-time friends.
