Chad Daniel Sutherland, 24, of Cheyenne Wyoming, passed away on April 27, 2026, in LaBarge, Wyoming.
Chad was a beloved husband, son, family member, and friend. Though his life was far too short, he left a
lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was known for his kind heart, quiet strength, and the way
he made people feel valued and cared for. Chad had a steady presence—never loud about it—but the
kind that brought comfort and meant something when it mattered most.
Chad was born on October 24, 2001, in Thorton, Colorado. He attended Strasburg High School,
graduating in 2020, where he left a legacy both on the football field and on the wrestling mat. He
continued his education at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, where he played football for the
Loggers and earned a degree in Automotive Technology.
It was in Lewiston that Chad met the love of his life, Koleen. The two were married in June of 2024 and
began building their life together. In 2025, they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, starting a new chapter
side by side.
Chad shared a deep bond with his wife, Koleen Sutherland. Together, they built a life grounded in love,
partnership, and shared dreams. Chad was also preparing for one of the most meaningful roles of his life
—becoming a father. He was overjoyed to welcome his daughter, Maggie Marie, and looked forward to
that role with pride, excitement, and love.
Chad had a deep passion for football, racing, and working on vehicles. He had a special talent for
restoring old rigs—and then driving them like they were meant to be driven. That work said a lot about
him. He didn’t quit on things. He showed up, got his hands dirty, and saw things through.
More than anything, Chad valued the people in his life. He built strong, meaningful relationships and
created memories that will be held onto for years to come. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his
genuine nature, and the way he gave his time and heart to others without asking for anything in return.
Chad is survived by his wife, Koleen Sutherland; his daughter, Maggie Marie; his parents; his siblings;
extended family; and many friends whose lives were better because of him. His spirit will live on through
Maggie, carrying forward the strength, love, and passion that defined her father.
A memorial service will be held at Cheyenne Hills Church on May 11th 10am. There will then be a
celebration held at the Strasburg High School gymnasium, Strasburg Co. On May 11th at 4pm.
Chad will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
