Delaun T Messick

Delaun T Messick, age 58, died at his home in Kemmerer, WY on March 12, 2018.  Delaun was born on December 9, 1959 In Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of  Ray Eugene and Diantha (Cox) Messick.

 

He married Polly Ann Black on September 8, 1984 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  He graduated from High School in 1978, and during his senior year he wrestled and won the state championship in his weight.  He enjoyed reading, and watching television.  He also enjoyed shooting, and loved particiapting in the Boy Scouts of America program.  He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Rome Italy Mission, and during that time, he contracted ALL (Acute Lymphatic Leukeima).  He battled the disease with a determined soul.  

 

He is survived by his spouse, Polly Messick, of Kemmerer, WY; sons, Alexander (Alyson) Messick, of Escondido, CA; Parker Messick, of Kemmerer, WY; and Seth Messick, also of Kemmerer, WY; and a daughter, Chloe Messick of Kemmerer, WY.  He is also survied by two brothers, Noal Messick of Shelley, ID; and Owen Messick, of Shanghai, China.  He is survived by a sister, Juleen (Dean) Durrant, of Orem, UT.

 

Delaun is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Cleston Messick, and a brother, Veldon Messick.  

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6PM until 8PM at Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer, WY. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Kemmerer LDS Stake Center, with Bishop Destry Dearden officiating.  Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Shelley, Idaho.
