Felix Abriani

Felix Abriani, age 89, passed away peacefully with his family on January 29, 2016 after a long, happy life.  He was born in Oakley, Wyoming, on August 17, 1926 to Battista and Catina Abriani, and was the youngest of five children.  On November 28, 1965, he married the love of his life, his “Dolly”,  Rosemary (Arambel) Abriani.  They lost two infant daughters, and had one surviving daughter, Paula.

Felix loved his faith and his family above all else.  He always put other people’s needs ahead of his own.  He made time for not only his immediate family, but also his extended family and his grandchildren brought him great joy.

Felix enjoyed working, whether it was at his job, in his yard, or on his property.  The majority of his career was spent in the maintenance department at the FMC Coke Plant, a job that he loved.

Felix had a special gift for fixing and building things.  He truly was a jack-of-all-trades, doing everything from mechanical work, electrical, plumbing, sheet rock, roofing, concrete, carpentry, landscape, and gardening.

Felix never passed up an opportunity to help someone in need, whether it was fixing something that was broken, providing a part, or building something.  He and his best friend, John Povsche spent much time helping people around the community, and helping whenever needed behind the scenes at St. Patrick’s.  He also enjoyed sharing the vegetables from his garden, and even delivered them washed and ready to eat.

Felix loved Wyoming and always referred to Kemmerer as his “Paradise”.  He loved spending time fishing, arrowhead hunting, or his favorite - mushroom hunting with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He has many friends, and always made people feel special and welcome.  Many will miss him.

Felix is preceded in death by his parents, Battista and Catina, his wife, Rosemary, two infant daughters, Lisa Marie, and Rosemary; a brother, Batista Abriani, a brother, Frank Abriani, a sister, Lena Abriani, a sister, Jeanna Bleuher.  He is survived by his daughter, Paula Annala, a son in law, Jake Annala; four grandchildren, Nick, Kate, Chris, and Mike Annala; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
