Obituary Notice

Gail Renee Meacham, age 62,  passed away peacefully at her home in Kemmerer, WY. On December 30, 2015.  She was born on June 6, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Leonard Lee and Effie Evaline (Williams) Dawson.

Gail married Milton E. (Tony) Meacham on December 27, 1976 in Gallup, New Mexico.  Gail and Tony had been residents of Kemmerer for the past seventeen years.  She moved from Kansas to New Mexico, to Oklahoma, to Alambama, and then to settle in Wyoming following her husbands work at the coal mines.

Gail worked in the home and assisted in the raising of twenty three foster children for three different states and the Navajo Tribe.  Some of the children viewed Gail as their mother, and have continued to contact her over the past thirty years.  She loved to go camping, and bowling, but her true passion in life was raising her children more than anything else.  She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis twelve years ago, and since that time her health has continued to decline.

In her memory, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Gail is survived by her husband, Milton E. “Tony” Meacham, of Kemmerer, WY. ; a son, Dean (Karrie) Eggleston, of Kemmerer, WY.; a daughter, Shannon Eggleston, of Belton, MO.; and a son, Billy Meacham, of Kemmerer, WY.  She is also survived by three siblings, Cheryl (Marty) Schein of Raymore, MO.; Steve Dawson, of MO.; and Bill (Faye) Dawson, of Freeman, MO.  She is also survived by a granddaughter, Chelsea Eggleston, of Kemmerer, WY.  Numerous other nieces and nephews also survive her.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Dennis and Leon Dawson.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Ball Family Chapel of Kemmerer, WY.

At Gail’s request, no services will be held at this time.
