Helen Johnson

Helen Margaret Sohlman Johnson was born,  April 13th, 1931 in Windsor, Ontario Canada, the only child of Edwin and Lyyli Sohlman. She passed away September 29th, 2013.
She was proud of her Finnish Heritage and she spoke and wrote it fluently. She worked secretary/legal stenographer jobs in Canada and Kemmerer. She met her life long friend and love of her life, Bob, through a cousin Ed Maki and corresponded with him while Bob was in the Korean Conflict. They later married on October 31, 1952 in Windsor, Canada. Four Children were born to them through the years, Nancy Jo (Bob) Combs, Liisa Aileen, Robert Wayne (Michael Bond), and  Kathryn Ann (Gene) Knepper.
She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and the numerous camping trips using a real tent, not a camper, with family and friends. Helen loved to read, embroider when her hands allowed and loved doing her crossword puzzles. She was a stay at home Mom, always there when her family needed her to watch kids and/or pets, but not so much Nancy's horses! Helen was one of the original members of the Happy Homemakers Club. She was also very active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years until she had some mini strokes. She was very much loved and will be very missed byall her family and friends. We love You Mother!
She is survived by her husband, Bob, sister-in-law, Audrey Jones and her children Nancy, Robert and Kathy, grandchildren Bobbie Jo (Andy Ourada), Brandon (Amanda) Combs, Teresa Gregg and Stephen Gregg, Matt (Sarah) Jones, great grandchilden, Paige Marie, Corbin, Braxton, Tyler, Amdon, Cheyenne, James, Matt and Whitney and one great great grandson, Kaden and several nieces and nephews, her Happy Homemaker friends and her Lutheran Church Family whom she loved dearly. She was never a self-centered person and always prefered to give more than she cared to receive.
She was preceded in death by her father(at the age of 3), mother and daughter, Liisa, sister-in-laws Aile and Ione (Fred) Kaysbier.
She will be forever in our hearts!
