James M. Combs

James M. Combs, age 74, passed away at his home in Kemmerer, WY on December 10, 2022.  He was born on October 21, 1948 in Kemmerer, Wyoming, the son of Robert D. and Verna Dean Hunzie Combs.

 

James is survived by his mother Verna Povsche of Laramie, WY; a brother Robert (Nancy) Combs, of Kemmerer, WY; and a sister Dianne Maffei of Laramie, WY; two sons, James R. Combs of Kemerer, WY; and Matthew J. (Debbie) Combs, of Riverton, WY; his grandchildren, Corbin 12, Bentley 9, Daughter Jessi J. Combs of Kemmerer, WY grandchildren, Jordon 22, and Dakota 19.  He is also survived by many nieces, and nephews and friends.

 

James served in the US Army from 1967-1969.  Jim worked for FMC for around thirty years, the Basic for about six years.  Jim has been fighting Primary Lateral Sclerosis for decades.  Jim enjoyed all things outdoors, working on various projects, watching his grandchildren grow, as well as spending alot of his time with his best friend Sven.

 

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Julie Marie, his father RD Combs, a step father Paul Povsche as well as many numerous friends and fellow soldiers.

Celebration of his life will be held at Ball Family Chapel Mortuary on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM.  Military honors will be held concluding the memorial services in the Ball Family Chapel parking lot.  A luncheon will follow services at the Kemmerer Eagles Hall.  Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer, WY.
