Kittie Mae Hiatt, went home to her Heavenly Father, May 19, 2013. She passed away in Idaho Falls, Idaho, attended by her family. Kittie was born on May 29, 1924 in Denver, Colorado, to Raymond and Kittie Friele. She began school there until the family moved to Las Animas, CO.; where she completed her education. She graduated from Las Animas High School on May 19, 1942. Kittie married her high school sweetheart, Charles Hiatt, on July 10, 1942. Charles and Kittie had three sons, C.L. (Trish) Hiatt II, of Idaho Falls, ID.; Dave Hiatt, of Lake City, MN.; and Bruce Hiatt, deceased and one daughter, Karen Romjue, of LaBarge, WY. Kittie was an avid homemaker, sewing for their children, crocheting, canning and baking. She worked part time at home as a bookkeeper. Over the years, Kittie was a Cub Scout Den Mother in La Junta, 4-H Home Ec, Leader in Cheraw and helped with a youth square dancing group, Boots & Bells. She enjoyed camping, fishing with her parents and family, and loved her cats. Charles and Kittie moved several times over the years starting out in La Junta, CO.; then Cheraw, Canon City, Colorado Springs, Rocky Ford, and back to La Junta. They resided in La Junta until the passing of Charles, December 1, 2002, following 60 years of marriage. At that time, Kittie moved to La Barge, Wyoming to be with her daughter. Kittie is survived by her sons, C.L. (Trish) Hiatt, II; Dave Hiatt, and her daughter, Karen Romjue. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant son, Bruce. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the LaBarge Christian Center. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer, WY. Memorial contributions may be made in Kittie's memory to the La Barge Christian Center. Private family graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Viola Cemetery, LaBarge, WY. Online condolence may be left at ballfamilychapel.com
