It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice
Christopher Schaechterle who left us too soon on November 3rd 2025, at the age of 19.
Maurice, affectionately known as "Mo," or “Mojo”, was born in Kemmerer Wyoming on April 25
2006,and raised in Wyoming. While he later moved with his family to Las Vegas, NV, where he
graduated from Delta Academy, his heart often remained in Wyoming with his beloved great-
grandparents, who played a central role in shaping his life. Maurice was the funniest boy with a
heart of gold, whose easy laugh and quick wit could light up the darkest room. Maurice loved to
rap, and he was very good and funny at it, often freestyling rhymes that left his listeners
laughing and impressed. Though he faced his own share of troubles and challenges, his spirit
was unbreakable. Anyone who met or knew Maurice always had one thing to say about him: he
was caring. He cared so much for his siblings. He loved his brother and sister so much, he
would do anything for them—whether it was cheering them up with a joke or standing up for
them when needed. Maurice was also very smart, he loved to take apart anything and
everything just to figure out how it worked, and then put it back together again. He loved driving
his car, often reminiscing about his trips from Vegas to Wyoming. Maurice was serving up smiles
and food at Taco Time in Kemmerer, Wyoming, and later at Wendy’s in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Where there was Maurice, there was often his cousins London and Taylor who were
inseparable, and if they were together, you could be sure they were always up to something—
usually involving laughter, mischief, and unforgettable adventures. Maurice found his truest joy
in the great outdoors of Wyoming. He was happiest fishing, hunting, camping and riding his dirt
bike or atv. He was greeted at the gates of Heaven by his grandma Angela Reese, his father
Maurice Oliver Watts 3rd, and his great grandfather Gene Schaechterle. Maurice leaves behind
his loving Mom Sasha Niau and partner ( Demetrius) Las Vegas nv. Step dad Kimo Niau of
Overton nv., Great grandmother Sylvia Schaechterle, Diamondville Wyo., Sister and Brother
Arianna and Zayvn Niau, Uncle Mat Thompson (Kaylena), Aunt Tiffany Trembath (Dalton), Aunt
Nicole Peterson (Kim), Uncle Cory Schaechterle (Kathy), Uncle Dan Schaechterle (Michelle)
and numerous other aunts uncles and cousins. He taught us that a good life isn't measured by
its length, but by the depth of love we give and receive. While the loss is immeasurable, his
kindness, his humor, his brilliance, and his smile will live on in our memories forever.
