Michael Ray Decker

Nov 8, 1964 — Sep 7, 2026

Evanston, WY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Michael Ray Decker. Michael passed away at his home in Evanston, WY on September 7, 2026.

Michael was born on November 8, 1964, in Evanston, WY to Sharon (Fales) and Guy C. Decker III.

After high school, Michael joined the family trucking business for a short time and then joined the Navy. This afforded him the opportunity to see many parts of the world. After returning to Wyoming, he re-joined the family business, working in Cheyenne, Craig CO, Evanston, Hawaii, and LaBarge.

While living in Cheyenne, he met and married Debra Jones. Michael became a step-father to her two children, Amber and Nick. Joshua completed the family with his birth in 1996. Michael was proud of his children and loved them very much. They returned to LaBarge, and he and Debbie ran several businesses. After divorcing, Michael worked in the oilfields and then returned to the profession he loved – trucking.

Michael loved snowmaching and riding motorcycles. His Harley was a prized possession. He was a dare-devil and loved taking risks. He was one of the kindest, most generous people you could ever meet. He was greatly loved by everyone who ever met him.

He is survived by his parents and siblings Brent (Laura) Decker, Gaylynn (Jeff) Brady, and Jennifer (Max) DeSpain; step-son Nick (Denise) Shenefelt and grandchildren Alexis, Haelee, and Oliver; step-daughter Amber (Mike) Carlisle and grandchildren Greydyn, Aubrey, and Elizabeth; son Josh (Tyler) Decker and granddaughter Blakeleigh; and several nieces and nephews.

There is comfort in knowing that Michael is now at peace and has returned to his Savior Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Viola Cemetery up LaBarge Creek.
