Patricia Hunzie

Patricia Hunzie, passed away surrounded by her family at South Lincoln Nursing Center in Kemmerer, WY.; on February 20, 2016 at the age of 90.  She was born on December 1, 1925 in Kemmerer, WY.; the daughter of Paul H. And Nellie (Roberts) Kolata.  

 

Patty attended schools in Kemmerer graduating from Kemmerer High School.  She married her sweetheart, Harry S. Hunzie on March 18, 1945 in Randolph, Utah.  Harry preceded her in death on November 21, 2005.

 

Patty worked for numerous years for Emil Zebre at Zebre Intermountain Agency in Kemmerer as well as for the school district in Kemmerer.  She enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors with her lifelong companion, Harry, and her family and loved ones, camping, and fishing.  She also enjoyed spending time traveling to spend time with her family and attending all of her children’s and grandchildren’s life events.  She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kemmerer, and loved to spend time fullfilling many church assingments.  She rarely missed a Sunday at church, and had her “regular spot” in the pews there.  She also enjoyed spending time at the Kemmerer Senior Citizens Center, and loved to participate in activities like bingo.  The highlight of her day was to sit and enjoy the company of the people there. 

 

Patty spent the last few remaining months of her life at South Lincoln Nursing Center, and her family will be forever grateful for the love and care that she received from the nursing staff, and doctors who attended to her care while she was a resident there.

 

Patty is survived by her loving children, daughters, Mary (David) Wagner, of Arnold, CA.; and Linda (Fred) Girany, of Cheyenne, WY.; and two sons, Harry D. (Diane) of Salinas, CA.; and David (Renee) Hunzie, of Kemmerer, WY.  She is also survived by her loving grandchidren, David Wagner, Patricia Wagner Glaze, Jona Girany Jackson, Chris Girany, Hannah Girany Imbrogno, Ryan Hunzie, Jeremy Hunzie, Jason Hunzie, Jonathan Hunzie, Rebecca Hunzie England, Carlee Hunzie Scharton, Lexie Hunzie Scherr, Danee Hunzie, Kayla Hunzie, and Timothy Hunzie.  She is also survived by twenty four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Dolar, of Diamondville, WY.; and Helen Horton, of Portland, OR.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry Hunzie, one brother, Paul “Buddy” Kolata, and one grandson, Joshua.  

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Kemmerer Senior Citizens Center, or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to the Alzeheimers Research Center.

 

Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. At St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kemmerer, WY. With Pastor Jonathan Lange officiating.  Inurnment will follow memorial services at the South Lincoln Cemetery, Kemmerer, WY.  She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Harry.
