It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick Lynn Stanton announces his passing on June 10th, 2025
in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Pat was born December 1st, 1947, in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Jeanne Marie
and Richard Henry Stanton. Pat was the oldest of the three Stanton children. Brother Vernon (Vern)
arrived three years later, and sister Lynette arrived eight years after Vern. Pat and Vern were close as
children and their bond grew stronger with each passing year. Both brothers shared a love of the outdoors
and spent many days hunting and fishing together. Vern’s wife Beep was a constant calming presence in
Pat’s life. Pat and sister Lynette shared a special bond. Despite the age difference, they always enjoyed
spending time together and their loyalty and support for each other was unwavering.
Pat attended Rock Springs High School where he was a star tennis player. He graduated high school in
1966 and was then off to college at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. A couple years later, he
married Sherida Rae Morris in 1969. Together, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he finished his
studies at Westminster University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971. At which time, he was
drafted into the Army and served proudly for two years. In March of 1974, Pat and Sherida welcomed
their first child, a son, Paul. Three years later they got a surprise of twin daughters, Lindsey and Kelly.
Pat worked as an accountant at the FMC corporation for over two decades.
Pat’s children Paul, Lindsey, and Kelly adored their father. His love for them was unshakeable. He was
their biggest cheerleader in life and could always be counted on to be there when needed. When times
were tough, Pat would always remind them that they were a team and as a team, they could make it
through anything. Pat’s devotion to son Paul was unwavering. He worked tirelessly to make sure that he
had what he needed and was happy. For him, this became one of his greatest purposes in life.
Pat’s daughters Lindsey and Kelly often called him their triplet as they were carbon copies of their father.
From shared green eyes and a strikingly similar physical appearance to many shared interests and
characteristics. Pat called or texted his daughters daily and often ended the call with “Dinners on me.
”
One of Pat’s greatest blessings was the arrival of his two granddaughters Mia & Monroe Parsons. His
relationship with them was one of pure joy and his time spent with them was amongst his favorites. Pat
always commented how he thought Mia was unstoppable, the world was her oyster and that she could do
anything that she put her mind to. Monroe, he called his spirit animal, he would often joke about how he
wished he could be just like her. Her laidback, positive attitude was something that he so envied.
In addition to Pat’s love of spending time with family and friends, he was an avid outdoorsman, loved the
game of golf, enjoyed traveling, watching football, cooking, and history. Most important of all was Pat’s
faith and his time spent in the Catholic church. He was deeply devoted to the teachings of the church and
never missed a service. He relied heavily on his faith throughout his life.
Pat’s death leaves an unfillable void in the lives of his family, yet they will find comfort in the memories
and everlasting love they shared. Pat’s legacy of his life will live on through his influence in them beyond
his time here on earth.
Pat is survived by his son Paul Stanton, daughters Lindsey Parsons and Kelly Stanton, ex-spouse Sherida
Bullis, granddaughters, Mia Parsons and Monroe Parsons; sister Lynette Stanton, brother Vernon Stanton,
sister-in-law Beep Stanton, and nephews, Danny (Kathy) Stanton, Matthew (Amy) Stanton and Phillip
