Paul "Buddy" Kolata

Our loving husband and father, Paul "Buddy" Kolata, died on November 15, 2014 in Gresham, Oregon, at the age of 75.   A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kemmerer, WY.  Inurnment will follow services at the Diamondville Cemetery, Diamondville, WY.

Paul Herman Kolata, known to most as "Buddy", was born in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Paul and Nellie Kolata on September 2, 1939.  Buddy grew up in Frontier where he attended school as a child.  He married Marlene Meads, on July 3, 1957 in Kemmerer, WY and made their home in Diamondville.   As a proud member of United Mine Workers of America (UMWA), Buddy worked at the Kemmerer Coal Mine for 38 years until retiring in 2002.

Buddy was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.  He loved to camp, hunt and be in the outdoors, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marlene Kolata, of Diamondville, WY.; children, Steve Kolata of Rock Springs, WY.; Robin Kolata of Kemmerer, WY.; Lisa Willard of Ogden, UT.; and Kristina Kolata of Eagle Creek, OR.; sisters, Patty Hunzie, Shirley Dollar, and Helen (Ron) Horton;  six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Kolata.
