Rebecca Hartle

Rebecca Julieana Hartle, fondly known as Julie, 83, formerly of Diamondville, passed away at her home in Phoenix, Arizona on March 13, 2025 surrounded by her family after a persistent battle with Multiple Sclerosis.Julie was born on July 9,1941 in Ashton, Idaho to John Wesley High and Thelma Maude Andrus High. She was the youngest of 7 children. She grew up working on the family homestead in Ashton. Julie was eagerly baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on November 1, 1952. Her family later moved into Idaho Falls. She graduated from Bonneville High School. Julie married James W. Peters on June 15, 1961 when she was 19. Shortly thereafter, their divorce was final on September 26,1961. She had one son from this marriage.Julie married John Andrew Hartle Jr on November 30, 1963 when she was 22. They had 2 boys and 2 girls together. They were sealed for time and eternity on November 30, 2019 in the Phoenix Arizona Temple. It was a beautiful day!Julie loved to paint, draw, crochet, macrame, sew, cook, bake, work on cars with her husband and boys, hunt, grow her own garden, play cards, read, work on genealogy, and most of all, spend time with her grandchildren. When asked what she did for a living she would answer, “Jack of all trades.” She has worked on a mink ranch, oil rigs, as an assistant manager a few times, a cashier, maid for a motel, a cashier, janitor, flagger for road construction, pilot car for oversize loads, a babysitter, caregiver, and a tutor just to name a few. The best jobs she ever had was a mom and grandma. She loved her children dearly and absolutely adored her grandchildren with her whole heart. Julie is preceded in death by her husband, John A Hartle Jr. Both of her parents JW and Thelma, one son, Wesley Hartle--who died before birth, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Julie is survived by: One sister, Betty June Linscott, Idaho Falls, ID; Her 4 children, Michael Peters, WA; Marie “Edna” Sinclair, Phoenix, AZ; Jamie (Jenifer) Hartle, Afton, WY; Cindy (Bill) Probst, Phoenix, AZ. She has 16 grandchildren, Andrew (Christine) Jackson, Erica (Tom) Davis, Pasco, WA; Jessica (Weston) Willden, CO; Laceigh Jones, Chasity Jodoin, Portland, OR; Corey Jones, Milwaukee, OR; Alyssa Peters, Tristan Peters, Price, UT; Cameron Snow, Cayleigh Snow, Salt Lake City, UT; Amanda Foster, Phoenix, AZ; Katelyn (Jonathan) Eastman, Idaho Falls, ID; Megan Sinclair, Carson City, NV; Stormie Rei (Jeremy) Lunt, D Gunner Howell, Jenika Probst, Phoenix, AZ. She has 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held in Kemmerer at the Kemmerer LDS Stake Center on April 2, 2025 and Internment was held at the South Lincoln Cemetery, Kemmerer, WY.
