Ruby Mae Toomer

Ruby Bailey Toomer, age 91, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, where she had been staying for the last nine years, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, on Friday, June 6, 2014.

Ruby was born in Cokeville, WY. On September 30, 1922 to Earl and Henrietta (Thompson) Bailey.  She married James Derricott Toomer on January 19, 1940 in Paris, Idaho.  He preceded her in death on April 16, 2004.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Ruby married James Toomer.  They worked on and leased various ranches around Cokeville, WY. Before moving to Lyman where they purchased a ranch, and bought and sold horses.  They enjoyed their hobby of Chariot Racing which they enjoyed for over thirty years.  They had raced in five states.  

Ruby had one sister, Fern Vandermuss, and one brother, Raymond Bailey.

She is survived by one daughter, Patti Jo Toomer, of Pleasant Grove, UT.; preceded in death by a son, Timothy Toomer, and survived by Sons, Reed, and Jimmy Toomer, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Cokeville L.D.S. Chapel on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. Until 1:45 P.M.  Graveside services will be held at the Cokeville Cemetery, Cokeville, WY. At 2:00 P.M. Thursday.
