Ruth Ann (Crawford) Johnson, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 15, 2025 at South Lincoln Nursing Center in Kemmerer, Wyoming, where she received excellent care.
Ruth Ann Crawford was born in the miners hospital of Kemmerer, Wyoming to Mr. David C. and Gurtrude M Crawford on August 10, 1945.
Ruth grew up and was educated alongside her older sister, Phyllis E. Crawford in the Diamondville/Kemmerer area. She met Eugene K. Johnson of Big Fork, Minnesota who came here to work in the saw mill outside of Kemmerer, Wyoming. They were married on August 18, 1962 at the Berta A. Penney United Methodist Church in Kemmerer, Wyoming. They settled in Diamondville, Wyoming where they had and raised two children; Kenneth E. Johnson, and Yvonne M. Johnson. They were happily married for 39 years.
Ruth like to do many activities, such as bowling, fishing, camping, hunting, and drawing, she was an excellent artist and she loved exploring new places and spending as much time with her family as she could. She loved holidays and doing church work.
She was a loving, dutiful, caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was affectionately called "Squirrel" by her close family. She was willing to help any person or animal down on their luck because she had a heart as big as all outdoors. She deeply loved her family and friends and was a devoted Christian of the Missouri synod Lutheran Church. Ruth was a homemaker and mother most of her time, but also did work as a hotel maid, manager at Maverick, and served as a secretary for the Wyoming Correctional Board. She also loved to make and decorate cakes.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, and a granddaughter,
She is survived by her son Kenneth E. Johnson and a daughter Yvonne M. Bettine; grandsons, Kent E. Hess, and Aaron T. Hess, a great granddaughter Savanna R. Hess a sister, Phyllis E. Johnson; a daughter in law, Mary J. Johnson and a son in law, Tony Bettine as well as a cousin Sheila Dewy and numerous nieces and nephews.
