Sharon Susanne Hess, age 75, passed away on April 2, 2026, at the South Lincoln Medical Center in Kemmerer, Wyoming. She spent her last moments with her daughter, Taunia Lee Berg.
She was born in Lewistown, Montana, on April 28th, 1950. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She graduated High School in Helena, Montana, in 1968, after which she decided to begin her family with her first husband, Frank Williams, in Douglas, Wyoming. They had two children, Taunia Lee and Frankie Robert, and remained together until 1983. She then finished raising her children in Gillette, Wyoming, where she met her final love, Jerry Hess, in 1989. They soon moved to Kemmerer, Wyoming and remained together for 37 years until they passed within three weeks of each other in 2026.
Due to many lean years throughout her life, Sue became a “collector” of many things. She believed if one was good then “12” was better! Her favorite thing to collect was frogs, and to say that she had 500 to 1,000 at the time of her passing would be conservative. In addition, there was not a rock that was safe from her unless she just couldn’t pick it up and take it home because it was too big! However, the most important thing she collected was friends. She cooked a big meal every holiday and anyone without a place to go was welcome at her house. She loved hard if she loved you and would do anything for her family and friends.
Sue loved to craft, cook, garden, can, read and liked to hunt when she was younger. She often went fishing with her husband, her children, grandchildren, and friends, and loved to travel. She will be missed.
Sue is survived by her children, Taunia Lee Berg, Frankie Robert Williams Jr., Clorice Evonne Walton, and Cyrena Lou Devitt (deceased); Her grandchildren Zachary Berg, Cedessa Sotoberg, Tyrel Berg, Elizabeth Reynolds, Michael Williams, Jerry Williams (deceased), Victoria Williams, Chase Hall, Abby Hall, and Gabby Hall; her great grandchildren Eleria Berg and Axel Berg; her brothers Mel, Tom, Les, Larry, Clint and Lee LaFountain, as well as many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
A graveside celebration of life service will be held on April 11, 2026, at 12:00pm at the South Lincoln Cemetery, 530 Fossil Butte Drive, Kemmerer, Wyoming. There will be a reception immediately following the lowering of the vault, at the Saint James Episcopal church, 506 Cedar Avenue, Kemmerer, Wyoming.
