Violet Wright

Violet Mabel Wright started her life’s journey on Oct. 25, 1919, born to Mary and William Jennings of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Violet grew up on the streets of Belfast and enjoyed all of the experiences a little girl to a young Belfast woman might experience.  She met a young carpenter’s apprentice John Wright, who was employed at the Harland & Wolff shipyard and at age 22 Violet Mabel and John Wright were married on April 6, 1941 in a parish of the Church of England, Belfast. The couple immigrated to the United States, to Cleveland, Ohio, in July 1951, where they raised four children Brian, Valerie, Wayne and Sharon.

In July 1971 Violet and family moved to Denver Colorado where she lived her remaining years.

One of her greatest life pleasures was the birth and life of all her 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She loved and was very proud of them all.

After experiencing heart surgery and several years of a slow decline in health, Violet eventually entered into an assisted living apartment and later into a nursing home.

Violet’s life journey of 93 years, came to an end, she passed from this world on May 29, 2013 to begin another journey with her late husband John  and eldest son, Brian, perhaps even back, to borrow the words of a traditional Irish song…..to where the green glens of Antrim sweep down to the sea.

Violet Wright is preceded in death by her husband John and her eldest son Brian. She is survived by her two daughters, Valerie Taber (Gene), Sharon Schulz (David) and son, Wayne (Toni).

Funeral services and Irish wake will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Cross of Christ Church, Broomfield, CO.  Violet will be laid in eternal peace at the South Lincoln Cemetery,  Kemmerer, Wyo., on Monday, June 10, 2013.
