William F. (Bill) Shimmin, age 67, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at South Lincoln Medical Center in Kemmerer, WY. He was born on June 5, 1946 in Leadville, Colorado, the son of James E. & Bette L. Shimmin. Bill was one of three children. Bill married Olga Jean Churlick on November 17, 1967. Bill and Olga had three children; Francine, Shelly, and Rick. Bill enjoyed hunting, riding four wheelers, camping, and horses. Bill worked at the Leif mine, FMC coke plant, they Wyoming Department of Transportation, as a corrections officer for the Lincoln County Sheriff's office, and as a police officer for the Town of Diamondville, WY.; with his latest employment as a truck driver with BTI in Kemmerer, WY. He also served as a councilman for the Town of Diamondville, WY. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Olga Shimmin, daughters, Francine (Dave) Schoen, Shelly (Darren) Hysell, and a son Rick (Kimberli) Shimmin. He is also survived by a sister, Patrice (Kent) Service; niece Tracy Steinbach; nephew Colin Service; his granddaughters, Samantha Gentry, and Randi Shimmin; his grandsons, Cole Shimmin, and Kevin Gentry, step granddaughters, Whitney Hysell, Brittni Christen, and Hali Christen; step grandsons, Levi Hysell, Tyler Hysell, and Grayson Nielson. He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Bette Shimmin, and a brother, Richard (Dick) Shimmin. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer, WY. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel.
